Port guide - Golfe Juan
Golfe Juan is a small fishing village in the eastern part of the Bay of Cannes, just 10 minutes from Cannes itself. It is famous for being the site where Napoleon chose to land to re-conquer France on 28th February 1815. Some of the local shops and monuments are there to remind you this important fact for French history. As its name indicates, Port Camille Rayon was built by Camille Rayon, a famous Resistance hero during World War II. Camille helped the allies by coordinating local efforts to disrupt operations along the south coast of France, after which he ran a small restaurant in nearby Antibes. However, he never stopped thinking about how best to serve the region, and played a major role in building facilities for large private yachts in the ‘60s and ‘70s. He is probably the man who can claim to have built more berths and moorings than anyone else, with over 74 marinas including the Quai des Milliardaires (Billionaires’ Quay) in Port Vauban, Antibes.
Port Camille Rayon has berths for over 800 boats, for boats from 6m to over 70m LOA. The depth varies from 2m up to 5m. The port also has a busy fuel station by its’ entrance, 24hr diver service and a huge shipyard capable of lifting boats up to 200 tons.
